Greetings From Raleigh, NC

Postby SumwunLost » Sun May 14, 2017 12:16 pm

Greetings from Raleigh! I have wanted to try coffee roasting for a while and took the plunge on Christmas Eve last year. Been using the basic Whirley Pop and awaiting the stainless steel one, due to arrive later this week. I'm sure my results are not spectacular but I prefer it to coffee that I thought was pretty good.

I'm off to browse the forum now and probably post a lot of daft questions.

Hi Sumwun!
Welcome aboard. I'm glad to compare notes on the roasting experiences. I picked up a Whirly Pop sometime ago, and still haven't used it because hot air roasting has met my needs so well! I do 3 or 4 quarter pound roasts a week, or more if I want to give some away.

What are your favorite coffees, how dark do you take your roasts, how do like to brew it, etc?
